Chris Watt

Screenwriter & Script Consultant

Chris Watt is an award winning screenwriter and script consultant, based in Scotland.


A member of the WGGB and BAFTA Scotland, his feature film screenplay, STALKER was produced by Stronghold NYC Productions in 2022. Directed by Steve Johnson, and starring Sophie Skelton (Outlander) and BAFTA winner Stuart Brennan, the film had its world premiere at the Frightfest Film Festival 2022, and was released on DVD and digital shortly after.

 

His second feature film screenplay, THE MIRE, went into production in 2021, and is currently in post- production with Apple Park Films, directed by Adam Nelson.

Off the back of these projects, Watt was also commissioned to write a new horror feature film for Stronghold NYC, which was completed in 2022, and is currently in development.

​

His short film screenplay, BRUISE, was produced by On The Western Front Studios in 2022. Directed by Mo O'Connell, the film had its world premiere at The Galway Film Fleadh 2022 and is currently on the festival circuit.

 

Off the back of this project, he was commissioned by the same production team to write a new feature film screenplay, now in development. 

 

He also has two other short screenplays optioned and in stages of development and production.

In addition to screenwriting, Watt also works as a Script Reader and Consultant for a handful of screenplay competitions, as well as through his own consultancy, THE SCRIPT COURIER.

​

Watt is also the author of a novel, PEER PRESSURE, and a collection of poetry and shorter work, ON LINES, which are both available through Amazon.

​
