ABOUT
Chris Watt is an award winning, professional screenwriter with fifteen years of experience within the film industry.
With a BA Hons Degree in Media Production (Screenwriting), he currently has two feature film screenplays optioned and in development with the international film company Stronghold Productions NYC. His feature screenplay, The Mire, is in pre-production with Apple Park Films and his short screenplay, Bruise, is currently in pre-production with On The Western Front Studios.
As a film journalist, he has written for Total Film Magazine, Film Inquiry, FlickFeast and numerous other publications and was the Senior Film Critic for Independent Film Magazine Watch This Space.
His first novel, Peer Pressure, was published in 2012, followed by a poetry collection, On Lines, in 2018.
His screenplay for the short film Manifest, was produced and released in 2015.
Watt is a member of the Writer’s Guild of Great Britain and has won numerous awards and placings within national and international film festivals and screenwriting competitions.
When not working on his own films, he freelances as a script reader and consultant, offering notes and feedback to writers at every stage in their process.
He lives and works in the North-East of Scotland.
